Skanska Announces Promotions for its USA Civil Northeast Operations

Skanska, a leading global construction and development firm, today announced several promotions for the firm’s USA Civil operations in the Northeast. 

“We are proud to be announcing the promotions of these six talented individuals, whose invaluable contributions have strengthened both our organization and the high-caliber projects we deliver,” said Michael Viggiano, executive vice president of Skanska USA Civil. “Their commitment to operational excellence, exemplary work ethic, and dedication to delivering projects safely and efficiently make them incredibly well-qualified for their new roles. We look forward to the continued impact they will have on our firm and the industry.”

Crecco John StandardBG Metropolitan Airport News

John Crecco was appointed to the role of Senior Vice President of Operations for Skanska USA Civil. With more than 30 years in the construction industry, Crecco has experience in intricate mechanical endeavors and large-scale infrastructure assignments and has overseen various specialized disciplines. During his tenure at Skanska, he has been integral to the Croton Water Filtration Plant project and the Interstate-4 (I-4) Ultimate Project and is currently working on the JFK Airport Central Terminal Area Roadways, Utilities, and Ground Transportation Project in Queens, New York. 

Vincent Evola

Vincent Evola was elevated to Senior Vice President of Operations for USA Civil’s New York and New Jersey operations. With a 30-year career in the construction industry, 24 of those with Skanska, he has previously served as Skanska Northeast’s Chief of Staff as well as Vice President of Operations. During this time, Evola managed an extensive portfolio of mega-projects including the Second Avenue Subway Launch Box & Tunnels, Hunts Point Roadways, Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Livingston Avenue Bridge Project.

Brian Reilly

Brian Reilly will now serve as Senior Vice President of Operations. Reilly holds a wide-ranging skillset through his experience on numerous heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Northeast, including Corona Avenue Vortex Facility, Central Artery Project (“Big Dig”), World Trade Center Transportation Hub and Path Hall projects, and General Dynamics Electric Boat’s South Yard Assembly Building. He is currently working on the New Jersey Transit Portal North Bridge and Hillview Reservoir Project in Yonkers, New York.

Coutts Bob 1 Metropolitan Airport News

Robert Coutts has been promoted to Vice President of Operations for the firm’s Civil business unit in the New England region. With more than 40 years of construction management experience and a nine-year tenure at Skanska, Coutts has successfully delivered some of Massachusetts’ most significant and complex heavy civil and urban highway demolition projects, which includes the notable Immersed Tube Tunnel Project and the South Coast Rail Expansion Project.

Steve DelGrosso

Steve DelGrosso will be assuming the position of Vice President of Operations in the New England region. As a leader in heavy-civil design-build projects with a nine-year tenure at Skanska, he specializes in major bridge replacements, highways, tunnels, and transit facilities. Stephen has successfully led six design-build projects for the company, notably the Route 146 Reconstruction in Rhode Island.

Alexander Borovets

Additionally, Alexander Borovets has been promoted to Chief Engineer following eighteen years in Skanska’s Engineering Department in New York. Borovets oversees the engineering team, manages the planning, coordination and execution of engineering tasks, ensures strict adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, and supports all project teams in the region. In addition to his professional contributions, Borovets is a licensedProfessional Engineer and active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Deep Foundations Institute (DFI).
