Eli Kay, a consummate financial professional with two decades of experience managing complex private and municipal budgets, will join JFKIAT, LLC. – the company which manages Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport – as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

“We are eager to welcome Eli and all of his experiences to Terminal 4,” said Gert-Jan de Graaff, President and CEO of JFKIAT. “I am confident he will be instrumental in managing the company’s finances while furthering key relationships with stakeholders and business partners. “Terminal 4 at JFK is the model for private air terminal management and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with some of the most knowledgeable influencers in the industry,” said Mr. Kay. “I look forward to this next phase of my career, tackling all of the challenges and possibilities offered at a company like JFKIAT.”

Currently, Mr. Kay serves as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for three entities in San Mateo, California: San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), one of the principal public transit and transportation units of the San Francisco Peninsula; the Joint Powers Board (Caltrain); passenger rail service and San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA), a funding agency delivering a broad spectrum of transportation projects and programs in San Mateo County. In this role he is responsible for all finance, accounting, IT, contract and procurement services.

Prior to his position in San Mateo County, Mr. Kay served as CFO of the Chicago Skyway and the Indiana Toll Road Concessions. He also worked as controller and auditor with various companies. He will begin his new role with JFKIAT on December 1st.

Mr. Kay holds a BS in Accounting and an Executive MBA (both from the University of Oregon) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is married with two children.

Terminal 4 opened in 2001 as a first-of-its-kind joint venture between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and JFKIAT. Since then, the Terminal has grown exponentially from serving six million passengers per year to its current state of operation – which is projected to include more than 20 million annual travelers in 2016.

As one of the world’s most modern and efficient air terminals, T4 prides itself on providing travelers with a superior passenger experience. The terminal has seen the expansion of its retail space, which now offers more than 122,200 square-feet devoted to shopping and dining – featuring 48 retail shops and 27restaurants – including chic, upscale boutiques, convenience and gift stores, world-class eateries, well-known casual dining, healthy options, and food-to-go, fitting the need of every traveler. Terminal 4 also features a queue measurement system, which is located at Terminal 4’s TSA security checkpoints, Customs and Border Protection checkpoints and the indoor taxi waiting area, uses beacons to detect and track Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals from devices to derive passenger waiting time, journey time and density.

About JFKIAT

JFKIAT, LLC is the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, one of the most active air terminals in the New York area, serving 32 international and domestic airlines with an annual passenger volume of more than 19.5 million travelers in 2015. With an expansion completed in 2014, passengers traveling through Terminal 4 can visit an outstanding selection of new and upgraded restaurants and bars, including world-class eateries, well-known casual dining, healthy options, and food-to-go. Terminal 4’s expansive shopping mall offers an unparalleled shopping experience for travelers with a wide range of retail options from chic, upscale boutiques, to convenience stores, to electronics, accessories and gifts. Terminal 4 is the only air terminal in North America operated by a private management company. JFKIAT, LLC is owned by Schiphol USA Inc., a U.S. affiliate of Schiphol Group.
